Favorite Dish at Chon Som

This is hard to decide. I've been trying everything in the menu. If it's from the sushi menu, I would say Kanisu. On a hot Texas day, it just hit the spot. Kanisu contains crab, cream cheese, and masago rolled in paper thin cucumber soaked in a refreshing light Japanese rice vinegar.

From the hot kitchen, I would say Pad Thai. This is a popular dish in most Thai restaurants. It's a hard dish to make it perfect. The heat and the sauce have to be just right. Alisa got it down! Yummy

What is your favorite dish? Please post a comment to this blog.

Krapow beef! But that may change since Alisa is having me try new things. Of course Devin's is the Miso soup right now. Kylea will be a little harder, but she loves the fried rice so far. Just need to bring them in more. They want to eat the sushi. Next time they can have that.

We tried the pad thai and the sushi/sashimi love boat. They were great. What we really liked about Chom Son is they can create any customized dish for kids. That works out really well for our 18 months old baby.

Stawberry Eels Forever ROCKS!! But, it has always been my favorite. The Dynamite Shrimp was good, too. Alisa taught us the proper Thai way to eat our rice and curry, which also was awesome. The Sushimi was a work of art. Okay... we've only eaten there once, we ate waaaayy too much and everything was delightful! Looks like we'll have to for go all other restaurants until we've sampled everything on the Chon Som menu!! Justin was very professional and an excellent server.

Tom Kha (this is a true panacea, everyone should go and have it now. Stop reading, I said NOW!) Green Curry, Kaprow Pork, Pad Thai is the best is have ever had outside of someone's home.

Krapow pork is my favorite comfort food. Upon first tasting that well-balanced combination of Thai ingredients, I just know my world's gonna be alright. I've eaten at more Thai restaurants than I can shake a stick at, and Chon Som is at the very top of the list. I'm no expert, but I think the key to great Thai food is using quality ingredients in just the right proportions. In that regard, Chon Som is of my favorite restaurants of all time.
